They are norcal french bulldog rescue volunteers who love the french bulldog rescue and are dedicated to its continued well-being. The volunteers find new homes for approximately 25 French Bulldogs each year. Many hundreds of dollars are spent to provide medical care, food, shelter, and training while the rescued Frenchies are awaiting adoption.
The NCFB Rescue is composed of volunteers who are working toward these objectives:
- To accept Frenchies whose owners can no longer keep them and find responsible, stable, loving new homes for them.
- To rehabilitate Frenchies before placement by providing necessary medical treatment and training to increase the chances of successful placement.
- To help reduce the population of unwanted pets by ensuring that all rescued Frenchies are spayed/neutered before being placed.
- To screen applicants thoroughly before making placement decisions.
- To inform prospective adopters about the rescue program and the requirements for taking care of French Bulldogs.
Available Norcal French Bulldog Rescue Dogs
Hundreds of French Bulldogs are lost, abandoned, taken to animal shelters, or surrendered to rescue every year. This is the price of popularity. (The French Bulldog is among the 10 most popular AKC breeds.)
Buyers are intrigued by the Frenchies’ many charms, only later to discover the special care that some may require with their, “pushed in” faces, unusual structure, and, in some cases, genetic faults from irresponsible breeding.
French Bulldogs that come through the rescue program are seldom in “perfect” condition in terms of health, temperament, or both. Frequently, it is health and/or behavior problems that cause the owners to give up the dog.
We do not usually get puppies in rescue! The average age of a rescue French Bulldog is about two – five, and few Frenchies are ever surrendered to rescue under the age of two.

1.Petunia Roll – French Bulldog mix
Petunia Roll is the happiest pup ever! He loves everyone! A couch potato but loves her wheels! She will roll around to say Hello to everyone! Petunia has her diapers and will need to be changed often. She does well in her drag bag too in the house. She is allergic to grass so has to be in her wheelchair outside.
She will do good in a home with a friendly 30-pound playmate that is submissive and won’t hurt her. Petunia loves her toys, especially her Obee Ball! You can’t help but fall in love! Only CALIFORNIA ADOPTERS ARE EXCEPTED.
Naunie – French Bulldog Mix
Meet Naunie She’s a sweet loving baby that enjoys cuddles. She was rescued with 7 other dogs that lived in a travel trailer in horrible conditions. She’s fixed and up to date on her shots.
Ruby – American Staffordshire Terrier / French Bulldog
Check out this cutie, Ruby! Ruby is a 5-year-old female American Staffordshire Terrier/ French Bulldog mix! She is healthy, vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed; however, she did have surgery to remove kidney stones from her bladder.
She only has one kidney but is not on any medication. She just needs a special ‘kidney care’ diet. Ruby is 80% couch potato and 20% down to play or go for a walk. Mostly she wants to hang out and get scratches or lays around in the sun but is down for a moderate walk or tug toy.
She does well on a leash and in the car. She’s even had a couple of adventures with her foster family, who took her to eat on the patio of a quiet restaurant and to a brewery when it wasn’t too crowded, and she did great. She is great with older kids and guests in the home. She’s met some toddlers in the neighborhood, was pretty good with them but seemed a little nervous.
Ruby’s doing well with the foster family’s cats and is ok with mellow dogs who don’t take much interest in her. We feel, with the proper introduction and temperament, another dog could be ok. Ruby really loves everyone she meets, and we feel would do best in a mellow home.
Could you be the forever family Ruby is searching for? If you believe so, please submit a completed adoption application found at www.doggiebonez.com so that we can schedule a meet and greet. He is also on all of our social media pages IG: @Doggie_Bonez_Inc_ and Facebook: Doggie Bonez. If adoption isn’t an option, please consider fostering one of our pups.
We are a volunteer-run non-profit dog rescue and always welcome new short or long-term doggie foster families. We much appreciate the help and time of our fosters. You provide all the love, comfort, and safety of a home, and we supply you with everything else you may need, dog food, dog bed, toys, medical attention (if required),
etc. If you are interested, please visit www. doggie bones.com to see all of our available dogs who need a foster family while waiting for their fur-ever home and complete the foster application.
Molly – French Bulldog Mix
This little cutie is Penny and she is looking for her forever home! We got Penny when a very kind person was traveling back from Tijuana and while stopped at the border she noticed a man selling a puppy for $5. She was not going to leave the puppy behind and bought her and brought her back to LA. She contacted us and we quickly got her to the vet to be checked out. She is one lucky puppy because she had a clean bill of health.
Unfortunately many dogs and cats from Mexico come back very sick. Penny is a 3-month-old, female Chihuahua mix who is about 6 1/2lbs. She will be a bigger type of Chihuahua and we are told she could be possibly be mixed with some lab? We are looking for a puppy savvy home that has a safe and secure backyard and another ‘young’ and playful pup. Penny is absolute sheer perfection.
She gets along with every dog and cat she meets and once she gets the hang of her setup, she is almost 100% potty trained, and she will use potty pads. Penny needs a home that will incorporate some home cooking into a high-grade kibble and a home that WILL NOT crate her.
This little lady is one adorable pup in person and whoever adopts her, will be one very lucky family! THEY ONLY ADOPT IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA AS AN IN-PERSON HOME CHECK AND TRIAL PERIOD ARE REQUIRED. If you would like more information or an application, please contact them at: Gina@theforgottendog.org or rescueme.org
5. Whiskey – French Bulldog
*****Please do not inquire if you have other pets, kids or do not have Frenchie experience***** Whiskey 1 1/2 years old French Bulldog Neutered Up to date with shots Microchipped Currently fostered in Tracy.
No other pets Whiskey is available for adoption. We are looking for an experienced Frenchie home for this boy. He is your typical vocal, stubborn, opinionated boy and we know that what most people find annoying, previous Frenchie owners just get them and adore their quirks.
Whiskey hates to be alone so it’s imperative that someone is home with him during the day or else he will let the world know what he thinks about it. He’s super cuddly and absolutely hilarious.
Once he is on a schedule and acclimated to his new home, which could take a month or so, he is pretty easy to manage and you won’t be held hostage nearly as much, but the little dude needs to feel secure first. Whiskeys back story is that he was found as a stray with a severe prolapse rectum, and the finder got him medical care while searching for the owner.
His rectum ended up prolapsing again right around the time his owner was found. Opting to pass on his surgery and only agreeing to take him back to be euthanized, this BYB owner relinquished ownership and we stepped in to bring him into our program. Whiskey had his surgery, tacking his rectum to his stomach to ensure the prolapse would never happen again, and he is officially ready for a new home.
